summer days...

The past few days have been incredibly hot here...way too hot to be outside. So the girls and I have been enjoying ourselves and finding fun things to do inside. We've hit the library, made tents in the playroom and their most recent invention is playing "Sleepover" in Avery's room by themselves for hours at a time (which is a nice, quiet break for Dad!). Their friend Ella came over yesterday after naps and I setup a movie day for them, cranked up the AC, popped some popcorn and turned on The Jungle Book. They had a good time watching the movie and so did I (I love that Balou).

Later in the evening, I made some chocolate chip cookies (no, not from scratch...I'm not THAT domesticated yet). Kyla could barely contain herself with excitement and she dragged her rocking chair over to the oven to watch them bake!
